Abstract

Gastritis is an inflammatory condition of the stomach that affects the mucosal lining and can be either acute or chronic. Factors influencing the occurrence of gastritis include dietary patterns and stress levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between dietary patterns and stress levels with the incidence of gastritis among adults at UPT Karanganyar Public Health Center. This research employed a quantitative method with a retrospective approach and was conducted from March to April 2025. The subjects consisted of 371 outpatients at UPT Karanganyar Public Health Center who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data were obtained from both primary and secondary sources, including a dietary pattern questionnaire, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) to measure stress levels, and gastritis incidence data from the health center. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test with SPSS version 25. The results showed a significant relationship between dietary patterns and stress levels with the incidence of gastritis among adults at UPT Karanganyar Public Health Center (p-value < 0.05).
